Position Overview:An opportunity is available for a Licensed School Psychologist to serve K-12 students in a full-time, itinerant role covering six schools across multiple grade levels, including one high school, one middle school, one intermediate school, and three elementary schools. The position is based onsite in Irving, TX, and is not open to remote or virtual work options. The contract runs through the academic school year, beginning as soon as possible through May 21, 2026.
Location:Irving, Texas servicing multiple schools within the district.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations including Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) as part of initial assessments.
- Perform counseling evaluations and provide consultative counseling support; licensed professional counselors (LPC) provide consult counseling directly.
- Participate in multidisciplinary referral (MDR) meetings and attend Admissions, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings only in cases of controversy or parent disagreement.
- Manage a caseload of students requiring psychological assessment and support across six schools.
- Maintain compliance with district policies and licensing standards.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid License Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) or Associate School Psychologist credential issued by the state's Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
- Proven experience in conducting school-based psychological and behavioral evaluations.
- Strong understanding of educational psychology and counseling within K-12 settings.
- Ability to travel between multiple school sites efficiently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with school staff, students, and families.
